Sr. Microsoft Unified Communications Implementation Engineer

Telovations is seeking a Senior Microsoft UC Implementation Engineer to architect communications solutions and lead successful implementations for our enterprise customers. Prior project management experience and implementation of Office Communications Server R2 and Exchange solutions is required. Candidate will participate in customer presentations and requirements gathering for MicrosoftOCS, Exchange 2007 and Sharepoint server solutions and UC in an advisory role and be responsible for end-to-end deployment of the solution. Candidate must have a well-rounded, working, knowledge of Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) features including, instant messaging, and presence. 

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Designing, Proposing, Implementing, and Supporting a Microsoft UC solution consisting of Office Communication Server 2007 R2, Exchange Server 2007 Unified Messaging, and Media Gateway(s) to the Public Switched Telephone Network
  • Assisting in Sales by speaking with customers, gathering requirements, and capturing proposed work in a Statement of Work or Proposal
  • Being a team member on Microsoft solutions/projects, and possibly leading a team on projects
  • Building and maintaining project plan
  • Working closely with customers (internal and external) to understand and manage project expectations
  • Working within the guidelines of Telovations’ project and process management practices
     

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • Excellent presentation, strong consulting, communication and documentation skills
  • VoIP experience with one or more of the following: OCS, Cisco UCM, Nortel/Avaya, Broadsoft
  • OCS experience: IM, Presence, Federation, LiveMeeting
  • Firm understanding of Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory
  • Able to work efficiently in teams and/or independently
  • Good written and verbal communications
  • Ability to travel

 

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • MCTIP/MCP with current technologies and an effective plan to achieve full MCSE status or current MCSA status with an effective plan to achieve full MCSE status
  • One or more of the following: Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Operations Manager, Systems Management Server, System Center Configuration Manager, System Center Operations Manager, Internet Security and Acceleration Server
  • Firm understanding of Public Key Infrastructure technologies and components
  • General understanding of Quality of Service technologies and IP routing
  • General Telecommunications knowledge (TDM/ISDN/analog), Tollfree-800 administration, SIP or H323, Voice/media routers/gateways, enterprise dial plans
  • Experience with Broadsoft Broadworks Server Technologies
