Sales Engineer
Seeking a master at applying technology to solve business problems
We are a rapidly growing IP Communications company, delivering hosted communications solutions, and are looking for an energetic, customer oriented, technical guru to join the our Sales Team. As a Sales Engineer (SE), you will help design and build next generation private communications networks, help configure communications enabled business processes and provide expert technical support during the “on boarding” process. The SE will be responsible for supporting the sales team, ensuring new customers are successfully implemented and are able to configure their communications systems based on their needs.
The SE will also need a strong understanding of all applications, including relevance to business processes and key differentiators. This person will also be participating in the creation of customer facing technical documents and how-to guides, as well as deliver product demos to customers as needed. Your mission will be to become the resident expert on our products with strong working knowledge of our hosted VoIP platform, product features, and IP hardware. The ability to assist new customers through the setup process, resolve technical issues and answer questions will be critical. As a service expert with excellent communication skills, you’ll also be responsible for writing technical correspondence to customers, other service and support reps, and communicating feature requests to product and engineering teams.
The most critical qualification for this position is the ability to quickly gain the respect of clients by demonstrating product knowledge and, more importantly, apply that knowledge to solve customer problems. You must have a strong customer service attitude and a willingness to do whatever it takes to ensure the clients’ questions are answered and problems resolved in a timely manner.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in C.S. or a combination of education/certification and relevant experience
- Proven experience in providing IT Services, Software as a Service and VOIP voice technologies
- Experience with networking: routing, configurations, provisioning, layer 2 and layer 3 devices, etc.
- Ability to troubleshoot common hardware, software, and network connectivity problems in multi-platform, multi-protocol environments in installation of our IP communications services
- Ability to explore and make recommendations to customers for planning specifications, equipment configuration, and connectivity as it relates to our IP communications services
- Ability to identify different technologies and provide solutions as it relates to our VoIP service
- Ability to excel in a team-oriented, collaborative, and fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service orientation, face-to-face and on the phone to support remote users
- Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong initiative and creativity applied through technology
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to convey and relate ideas to others
- Strong ability to learn and adapt quickly
